I was just wondering if either Carmargue or Gabit are considering releasing a DVD of the weekend for purchase by us attendees, to complement our photographs and memories? I would certainly buy one if you did, especially if a portion of the proceeds went to the charities again.
I could be wrong but I seriously doubt there is going to be a DVD of the event. I did point out to my tablemates at the afternoon tea that I hadn't seen a camera in the Q&A. It was a small room so I thought I would have seen one if it had been there.
I was having a chat with one of the Gabit team at the end of the Saturday auction and she mentioned that there was a "good chance" of a DVD.
She was unsure if it would be of the Q&A sessions as she wasn't sure if the camera was in then (but I'm sure I remember seeing it when I turned round to see Rick/Amanda doing their "catwalk"). But it would more than likely be of the auction - which would be great as my photos were rubbish from that!
Hope that helps, and that maybe someone from the Gabit team can come and back that statement up!
There was definitely a camera at the Saturday AM Q&A and also at the 'morning coffee'. Our table was interviewed.
Don't know it that was intended for a DVD or something else. Keeping my fingers and eyes crossed for a DVD.
There was a guy interviewing at the table was on at the coffee morning on friday. He asked us our names and where we're from.
I asked Thomasina where they were from, (when I got the chance because she was so busy...bless her!) and she told me, a few names, but I can't remember them all!
O_O! For SKY!?! Woo Hoo if it is then that'll be the second time I've been at a limited edition event with less than 500 people there on the day i was ^_^ *feels so special*
Melon wrote:Marya, I was on the same table as you and that camera that interviewed us was for Sky apparently .... God.... am I gonna be on sky?!!?
Sky? Ahhh.... can't get Sky in Holland. At least not on cable. Uh, well, maybe that is not such a bad thing. I probably looked and sounded like a total idiot
Oooh yeah - a DVD reminder would be the perfect way to remember a magnificent weekend AND raise more for the charities. Hmm - could we have another record here - the largest percentage of attendees at a convention requesting a DVD of the event?

O'NEILL: Summat wrong?
CARTER: No. I've just never blown up a star before.
O'NEILL: Well they say the first one's always the hardest. (Sam looks at him) They say that.
I'm pretty sure that there was a photographic bod there (the one who took our personal photo's with RDA & AT) - John ???? was his name but don't know whether or not it was just still photo's and/or DVD.
This was Friday AM session.
A GABIT staffer told me there was a video shot, but she didn't know how or when it would be made available for distribution.
I spoke to her after the auction on Saturday. Sorry I don't know what her name is. But I thought you all would like to know that she confirmed one was made.
I have been asked to post a message on behalf of Carmargue Ltd to confirm that there are no plans to release a DVD of this Event at the present time. However, over the next couple of weeks they are hoping to update the website www.avalon2006.co.uk with some of the official photographs taken during Avalon 2006 - real life obligations permitting!
Sad - but such is life. Perhaps, we'll get to see highlights at future GABIT events - As much as I'd like to see the Sunday session again, I'd like to see the four sessions I wasn't at even more...
