didn't need one today. she is up to 8 minutes. i don't want to increase it too fast because she isn't used to doing anything that long. she'll have to get used to it.

it should do the job for toning er muscles ans burning fat. i'll gradually increase the time, but can't increase the speed. but it seems fast walking helps people so it should help her. wish i could do it with her. but it would not be fast at all, or very far.

i can gradually increase her time, but i won't even try. i wouldn't get more than 4-5 steps. and i couldn't hold on to her, she could easily pull me down. my balance is so bad. nope i won't be doing it, just her.

just one fast one, but missed a couple days because i got home and it was too dark by the time she ate or it was raining. i didn't walk her often before. we just let her into the yard to do whatever she wanted. if it is raining sometimes i have to walk her , just on our property to get her to go. if there has been thunder or fireworks she won't go out except on leash. but now i'm trying to fast walk her for exercise. didn't do it when she was sick.

i know its good for her. but i have to be careful that we don't meet up with another dog since she is dog aggressive. when we go jogging i keep her on the street instead of the sidewalk because all she wants to do is smell everything. can't jog and sniff at the same time. then at the end i just walk her and let her explore some. i have a hard time keeping her on one side when she jogs. she never learned leash manners in doggie school. she was always too distracted by the other dogs. and with the scooter, i'm limited in controlling her. when they do the training they have you hold the leash with one hand and hold a treat by your knee to keep their attention, but since i have to use the scooter, i need a third hand to operate it, so i couldn't do it. she pulls and keeps crossing in front of me when she sniffs around so when we jog, i keep her in the street and just watch for cars and then she stays on one side. i keep her between me and the cars so she won't get hit. but there aren't that many cars just after dinner time.

i'm very caREFUL. I KEEP MY EYES AND EARS OPEN FOR CARS. don't go very far because she only goes for 8 minutes so far. she will have to work up to a longer time. she's not used to that much exercise. she's learning to not try to go on the grass during the run. and she doesn't cut in front of me like when i just take her for a walk. she's learning.

i'm using my garage scooter. not sure how far i can go at top speed before the battery dies. my goal is a 15 minute run for her. then i'll check with the holistic vet to see how much more i can increase it. she is a senior dog, so i don't want to over do it.

maybe, but i don't want her to do too much until she builds some stamina. she was a very inactive dog since we got her. so i'll leave the decision to the vet. better safe than sorry. and i want her to enjoy the activity, non dread it.

Arnie is 15 and got wonky back legs and his daily routine is, at least four walks for about 30mins then one long walk for about an hour, if his legs are not too good then they do t do the long walk

glad he tolerates all that. i'd rather leave it up to the vet, how much Abby does. she isn't used to being active at all. if i started running all of a sudden(if i was capable of it), i would have a heart attack. my heart isn't used to that activity.

almost wish she was in case my battery wears down. a few of the streets are on an incline one way, but fortunately on a decline coming home.
