longsnowydaytoday

started snowing around 8am. i plowed the driveway twice before going to church and cleaned off the vans, then the snow plow came buy and pushed the snow back. they hadn't cleared the handicap parking spaces, so i complained. snow has slowed now. we got at least 3 inches. still some more coming. really tired after the pantry and all the shoveling and van cleaning. Abby didn't get to go jogging. they did a lousy job of cleaning the streets around here and on the way to church. hard to drive.

the snow is already coming down in chicago, but not yet here. i have the lawn guy coming around noon to clear the driveway and our vans. most of the snow will be over night, 3-5 inches and less than an inch on saturday. so i should be able to get to church. it probably won't be very crowded. but they still need ushers.

the yard guy came and cleared the walks and driveway and our vans. he worked hard. the town plow went past twice pushing a lot of snow behind our vans. he had a hard time with that and had to hand shovel it because the snow gets packed hard from the big plow. i could never have cleared it in my scooter. it was too deep - 6 inches at least. they are saying 1-3 more inches overnight. and the temps will drop to -8 and lots of wind. i hope i won't have to go out the next 2 days, bitter cold even without the wind chill. hopefully they will change the forecast for you.

Why do the blowers do that when they can see two cars on the drive, but at least they come down your street, only streets that get cleared here are the main ones, bus routs mainly, they leave side streets out

they don't care, they just plow people in all the time. but most have their own little snow blowers and are able to clear that snow from behind their cars. i talked to the one in charge of the plowing but he just blew me off. he can't be doing anything special for every citizen, handicapped, old or whatever. a real bastard. when the guy came and cleared snow, he piled the stuff from behind our vans too far into the street. i cleared away what i could, but it was just too heavy and ice held it in place. i tried. i'll have to make sure to tell my guy about that next time. we were supposed to hget more snow overnight and today, but didn't happen.

it's weird, we had all this snow and then super freezing temps and tomorrow it's supposed to be up to 3 with rain tomorrow and tomorrow night. right now it is -11 and wind chill of -15. i got all bundled up early afternoon and took Abby jogging. i lasted 20 minutes and gave in to the cold.

we had freezing drizzle today. had to scrape ice of both cars windows and had to put out a lot of rock salt because it was so slick. went to get a blood test and had to put down some rock salt to get to the back of my van to get my scooter out. it was really slick. then it started to snow again. hope everything gets resalted. it's 1 now, no snow supposed to get a few degrees warmer and rain the resat of the night and in the morning. will be 2 and rain tomorrow. then friday the high will be -13. cancelled mom's hearing test appointment. can't take her out when it's that cold.

we got maybe a half inch overnight, but it is covering the ice, so had to salt again. then the dang snow plow did all the side streets and buried the entrance to my driveway while i was jogging with Abby. i was able to get thru it but then had to go and clear that from behind our vans . i was so mad, i wish i had taken a photo. the plow pushed a huge big ball of snow and ice right behind my van. it was almost a meter high and wide. i had to hack it into smaller pieces and then push it out of the way with the shovel. my battery almost ran out doing that.
