but i'm sure that if you go in with something like chest pain, they won't make you wait because some guy with a broken finger came in first. our ER is for emergency things only. what does A&E stand for?

so that's like the ER, they "triage" you when you come and then you are seen in order of seriousness.

there always seems to be a wait, but at least they take you into triage right away to make sure it isn't a bad emergency.

on ce they called in some nurses to take care of ICU patients that had no beds and we were just swamped with other patients. can't take care ofa bunch of patients and have a critical patientthat should be a one on one. not safe.

yeah, they are the absolute worst patients. they are amateurs and are very mean. we usually had to put them in leather restraints because they were so violent with us. teenage guys were wimps tho.

we called the hospital security guards and restrained them. if there is a cop in the ER, they would deal with them but we don't call for them unless they are armed or extremely violent which usually means they took drugs and not just alcohol. but if they did, the cops can't take them to lock-up because of some law protecting them in case they have a cardiac arrest, which happened once. so they can't just throw them in the drunk tank anymore.
