I'm inclined to agree with you. I lack the data to be firmly of that opinion, but I choose to draw the conclusion anyway because it makes my worldview nicer. _________________ ==================================

I know I'm new, but this topic has made me really passionate teehee...so I'd just like to make my contribution if that's okay
The way I see it, Amanda Tapping is one of those wonderful people who is so open-hearted, generous and retains a strong sense of self-integrity and genuinity. Combined with her incredible devotion to her art, and her passionate dedication, she has no need, or desire, to hide her true personality. True performing artists are in a situation where a sincere, honest knowlege of oneself is ESSENTIAL...and Amanda is the perfect example. Her wonderful, sunny, generous, openly friendly, goofy personality shines in all her work both on-screen and off-screen. If you listen to any of the incredible cast and crew she works with every day, you will understand how universally she is loved...and the most wonderful thing is, she is so humble. For her, it is all about her work...and we can see the results of her devotion, and the rest of the team's dedication, in their fantastic products
It's fortunate that she has been able to work in the industry in Canada. The thing with Hollywood is..there is so much media hype, so much frenzy caused around these 'stars' , so much money and glamour involved, that we lose sight of the art.. Amanda always says that is important to keep scaring oneself creatively, and artistically, and for me, that is the essence of true art . The challenge to go where you have never been, to push the audience to extremes where THEY have never been, to confront, to hold the viewers in the palm of your hand, to find new ways of saying things, to find new things to say...and to take the audience on your journey. It's what makes performing so EXCITING
*PANT PANT* so to conclude, would just like to re-iterate that Amanda is one of those incredibly wonderful people that is genuine and sincere, openearted, and an absolute joy. The key is, she is human, like all of us, and she is not afraid to show it. Her humanity shines through in all that she does. Of course she gets angry, we all do, she has ups and downs, and that is what makes her so wonderfully real, and even more loved. We can relate to her.
I look up to her as the ultimate role model, both as an artist, and as a phenomenal woman. Her work, and Sanctuary 4Kids says all that needs to be said

| Oh, that's just past Massey uni right? That's where I'm studying now. At the moment I'm commuting from Kapiti. Yeah... moved back in with the parents to save money for AT4. I spent too much at the charity auction so I have to spend another year at home :P |

Yep, studying nursing. I just spent the weekend at a juggling festival, and met some awesome people who meet at Te Whaea so I will be spending quite a bit of time there.
Last night I spun a fire staff for the first time. |
