that's horrible. does she live by herself and nobody noticed the increased pain and immobility?

You have been lucky if that’s all you got, good idea about the phone, but if you have Alzheimer’s it’s not going toobe of much help as you’d forget you have it

i was sound asleep at that time fortunately my brother came and got mom's van today to have the floor checked by an auto body place because the floor is rusting out. he examined it and told my brother that it isn't anything to worry about. the metal is about a 1/4 inch thick and the rust we see is just flaking off. there is no danger of the floor rusting completely thru. what a relief.

i hope so. her previous van was real rusty and if we went over a big bump a piece of something rusted always fell off. glad it isn't that bad.

this one is ok, just surface rust under the carpet in back. the guy at the body shop said it isn't unsafe because the metal floor is too thick. we need to find someone to use a metal brush on the floor and then use carpet glue to secure the carpet. but it will probably have to wait till spring now.

no it isn't. but the van has been leaking some fluid in the very front of the van for several days. have to get that taken care of before the wedding. don't want to get stuck because the van broke down in downtown Chicago at the wedding. fortunately there is a retired fireman who moved in a block away a year or so ago. recently divorced. he likes to walk around the neighborhood and i always talk to him when i have Abby out. and he goes by the house and talks to mom too. he is bored living in a basement apartment so he told us if we ever need something just get in touch. mom took him up on that. he took her car to a repair place that fixed a bunch of stuff so the van is safe to drive to the wedding. he took it there and picked it up. he has done a few other things here and he came to see the van today and called the repair place and will bring it to them in the morning to be fixed. nice to have a neighbor like that when mom and i are unable to do a lot of things now. he's a really nice guy.

Submandibular glands

yes we do. a group of men bought mom the lift that gets her into the bed and her chair. one of the ladies went with her to be fitted for her new wheel chair a few years ago. they bring her flowers now and then and keep in touch with her if she needs anything. they are good people. Doug, the neighbor took mom's van in to have a leak checked. it's safe to drive to the wedding (darn). but then we have to get it in to have the valve cover and gaskets fixed. Doug will take it in and then i'll drive him home. it will take 2-3 days - big job.
