How do I add a photo into my post or sig?

Daft question, but how do I add a photo into my post, ie not an avatar, but actually at the bottom of say this post?

Hello,
I don't know if I actually can, but I'll try and answer you as best as I can :)

If you mean as a signature, you will have to follow a few steps:

  1. Make sure your picture have correct dimensions, you don't wanna de-form the board (make columns look larger, etc...) that it is right now. Usually, most siggys are 450*200 (or smaller).
  2. You have to host your pic on websites such as Imageshack. When it is done, you have a list of different links to choose to use. In the end, click on "show advanced linking" to get the link for you image
  3. In your profile, in the part for your signature, you just put that link between [img]***the%20link%20of%20your%20image***[/img]
  4. Right after this is done, make sure you checked "yes" for "Always show my signature".

Normally, from then, all the messages you will post shall have that siggy.

You can also use the img tags in your normal posts as well as the sig area (accessed via Profile).

Thanks for this, but I just want to add a one-off photo to a post, not something to my sig, at least at the moment.

I've just noticed Aeryn's instructions were for the sig. :oops:
You can use the same img tag process in the main part of normal posts.
I've edited my earlier response.

Yeah, and depending on the size of the picture, you can choose the link you put in. For example, if you have hosted a huge picture on Imageshack, one of the links you shall be offered is one of a miniature you can put in your posts.

Another thing to remember (I learnt the hard way!) is that when you change your Avatar or signature it changes it in every post you have ever made on the board - so if the timing of it's appearance is critical then be very careful! ;)

Yeah I suppose I better...can't have all these new folks thinking I am a such a scruffy little thing - even if I am spotlessly clean! :oops:
